IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria

IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is an online exam which provides the opportunity for the students who are willing to get admitted in IITs. Students with a Bachelor's degree and science as their subject in 12th can apply for this exam. Through this exam students can pursue:

  • Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D
  •  M.Sc.-M.Tech
  • M.Sc.-Ph.D Dual Degree 
  • Other courses at IITs

IIT JAM examination is conducted every year at different examination centres. Candidates who have cleared their JAM exam can pursue MSc and PhD courses. Candidates who are appearing for their final year exams can also apply for JAM examination.

Common Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM:

Nationality: Candidates from India as well as from Foreign countries are eligible for the exam.

Age limit: There is no age limit for IIT JAM examination.

Educational Qualification:
(i)  Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from any branch and from any university with aggregate of 55% marks for general & OBC and 50% marks for SC, ST categories.
(ii) Candidates must have Science as their subject at 10+2 level.
(iii) Candidates appearing for their final year exams are also eligible.
